Overview

As a Content Strategist and Social Media Manager, I was responsible for curating content and writing copy. I assured The Design Lab's philosophy and professional tone of voice were shone through and kept consistent across all platforms.

I also led and managed a team of 3 students to continue working on The Social Media Team, which included training them on analytics tracking, brand-consistent copywriting, and brand-consistent graphic creation.

Social Copy

In my time at The Lab, I’ve been carefully curating content that speaks to our different areas of focus such as community-driven design, health care, data visualization, and more. I then write social media copy by extracting the most important details that would engage our audience. 

Instagram Graphics

Aside from curating content, I have also been making graphics for our Instagram feed. Previously, Instagram was a platform that we did not utilize as frequently. However, due to the increasing use and value of the platform, I spearheaded the building of our Instagram social media strategy. One approach we took to begin revitalizing our Instagram was to translate our internal pieces into visually appealing graphics. 

Check out some graphics I have created as part of our quarterly Design@Large series, which adhere to the Lab's Design Language but showcase my own creativity as well.

Lessons Learned

In working at The Design Lab, I have had the amazing opportunity to learn about human-centered design while improving upon my content curation and copywriting skills. It is here where I first got introduced to UX Research and Design, and have been able to grow as a student, designer, and person as I explore, try new things, and reflect on myself within The Lab. I have also had the pleasure of working with bright, intelligent people who continue to inspire me to become a better version of myself as we work together to improve the Lab’s social media communication.
